He was born in Baku and draws inspiration from this city ever since. His works combine the past, the present, and the future. He has been drawing since he was six and never diverted from the path he chose. His name is Anar Huseynzada. Anar’s objective as an artist is to destroy borders and to fill the space that exists in traditional fine art in Azerbaijan with modernity and fresh artistic trends.
His inspirations, among others, are the mid-20th-century masters – especially Mir-Javad. “At that time they were striving to break down barriers and we continue their work today” -points out Anar Huseynzada. When he puts brush to canvas, Anar does not know the final result yet, he allows the work to naturally develop in the process. Each of his existing paintings is executed in a modern style, but with the use of traditional elements, such as patterns and ornaments.
